The countdown to Virginia Highland District’s inaugural Porchfest is on! We’re only days away from music filling the streets, good food, great friends, and the neighborhood coming to life. It’s time to get hyped and plan for a day you won’t forget! Here are some tips to make the most of your experience.
1. Plan ahead
The best thing you can do before the event (and during) is reference the map! This will be your go-to guide to navigate what porches will be hosting bands and when, locate food trucks and vendors, and a way to sync up with your friends and family with points of reference! Click here to download our graphic version of the Porchfest map and schedule to either print out or save to your phone. We’ve also prepared a Google map to guide you along your journey through the neighborhood. Be sure to bookmark!
Pro tip: Each color represents a time slot.
2. Get some merch and support VHDA!
Immortalize the experience by grabbing a souvenir tote bag and T-shirt at one of the Porchfest info booths at each end of Barnett St. All proceeds go to Virginia Highland District Association (the hosts of the event), so you can have more fun events like these in the future!
3. Grab a bite at Food Truck Way
Located up and down Barnett St., 14 of Atlanta’s best food trucks will be there to savor your taste buds all day long. Check out their menus ahead of time and choose your own feast adventure.

6. See Audi Cars
Our presenting sponsor Audi will have three cars on display throughout the event — one at each of our VIP porches:
- 885 Adair Ave.
- 937 Virginia Ave. NE
- 750 Virginia Cir.
Stop by for a look! Vroom vroom!
7. Wear comfy shoes!
Lace up your sneakers or your most trusty pair of shoes and hit the ground walking! There will be no shortage of steps on Porchfest day as you peruse the streets of VaHi.
8. Cheer on and celebrate the runners
More than 200 runners are participating in our first 5k Rock and Run so we’re throwing a party, and you’re invited! Start your day by cheering on the runners throughout the highlands, grab a doughnut and some coffee, and a dance party DJ’d by Knock Music House. This kickoff to Porchfest is at John Howell Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
9. Gotta go? Know where to find the restrooms
Our local businesses are kindly letting Porchfest goers use the restroom. Please patron them in return! Porta Potties will also be located on De Leon St. NE for when you’re further away from the business corridor and gotta go!
10. Pack a cooler
In between food truck stops, have a cooler on hand to quench your thirst and satiate your appetite.
11. Walk, bike, or take public transportation
With an influx of Atlantians flocking to Virginia Highland for the event, we recommend taking an alternate transportation method other than driving so you don’t get stuck looking for parking. We’re reserving parking for bands, vendors, and volunteers! If you need to drive, please park outside of the event’s boundaries.
12. Support local businesses
Before, during, and after the event, swing by the local businesses for all of your shopping needs. From flowers and homegoods to delish eats, the corridor has you covered.
13. Take a photo with the VHDA sign
Located in N. Highland Park, a picture with this sunset VHDA sign is the perfect way to round out your Porchfest experience.
14. Attend an after party
Keep the party going at one of the local businesses in the intersection of Va-Hi. Live music will continue with good food and company galore!
15. Have fun, stay safe, and respect the hosts!
Most importantly, revel in the live music and enjoy the day! Stay out of the street, please use good judgment when it comes to the crowd to keep your neighbors safe and be respectful of everyone’s property along the way.
The Virginia Highland District would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our sponsors, volunteers, and neighbors for making this event possible!
See you soon!
