We’re excited to host our inaugural Porchfest and Rock n Run 5k! We’ll start the day out with a Rock n Roll themed-virtual 5k run. Then, you can walk the neighborhood and hear bands playing from a number of porches. We’ll have food trucks stationed at different locations to savor your taste buds throughout the day.

    About

    May 8th 2021 from 12 to 6 pm

Virginia Highland Porchfest is an all day showcase of what Virginia-Highland neighborhood and the greater City of Atlanta has to offer. This spread out event will take place over 5 tree-lined streets in the historic, Virginia-Highland neighborhood.

Bands will play simultaneously for 1-hour slots of music on different porches or “stages.” New bands will start on porches at various times throughout the day. Float around to find your favorite blend of music genre and porch stage!

Along Barnett Street we will have Food Truck Way at each point where it intersects Virginia Avenue, Virginia Circle, Adair Avenue, Highland View, and Drewry Street. On Food Truck Way, you’ll find 12 of Atlanta’s top food trucks hosted by neighbors.

Please wear a mask and social distance. If a crowd is starting to form, or if you see a volunteer waving a red flag, please keep walking and find another band!

    2. Hello,
We just found out about this event and my son would love to perform. Is there any way that he can be added as a performer?

      Miriam

    3. Will you be publishing a map or list with the address of the porch each of the bands is playing at? Thanks!

      1. Yes! The map and schedule are just about finished and will be published to the website, as well as an interactive google map for day of navigating. It will also be published along Barnett St. Thank you!

      1. Hi Emily! T-shirts will be available for porch pick up the Thursday before Porchfest and be able to be picked up at the Main Information Booth at Barnett St. and John Howell Park throughout the day.

      1. Hi Aaron! There will be no formal road closures for VaHi Porchfest; however, traffic will be highly discouraged on Barnett St. from Virginia Ave to. Drewry St. for “Food Truck Way.”

    4. Hi. I am running the 5k that morning. I don’t live in the Highlands, but really want to run one of the routes you suggested. Will the 5k routes be marked that morning?
      Thank you!

      1. Hi! We will have one route marked by yards signs! Recommended running time is 8-11am, starting at Barnett St. & Virginia Ave., so you can enjoy our Rock n Run party at the finish line with games, doughnuts, and music by Knock Music House’s DJ Truck. Thank you for your support!

    5. Hi! For those of us planning to walk around and enjoy the bands, are there limitations in terms of alcoholic beverages (open container laws)?

      1. Hi! Great question! All general laws will still be applicable as we are not shutting down any streets. Please use your best judgement!

    6. Really enjoyed the food & the music! Bravo. Would like to see Porchfest extended to include St. Charles homes.
