Cromwell’s Paradox, or Paradox for short, opened its doors on January 15 as the first new addition to the Virginia Highland District in 2024. The goal of Paradox stemmed from a desire to create a space of positivity and joy in the city of Atlanta. "Moving to Atlanta I saw a lot of gift stores. I was looking for a peaceful environment that was uplifting, positive, and pleasant," Cromwell explains.
Paradox brings a fresh touch of luxury to the community with its unique selection of candles and perfumes. Inspired by the charm of historic districts and buildings, the store furnishings were designed around the discovery of antique display tables that transport visitors to another time. "Virginia Highland is a great neighborhood, and I was looking for an area that would fit the idea for the business," shares owner Eric Cromwell when asked about the choice of location.
With the store being inspired by exotic travel, Cromwell has curated a collection of unique brands not commonly found in Atlanta, including exclusive lines making their debut in the United States. "We have a lot of brands that a lot of stores don’t carry. If you are looking for something unique that you can’t find anywhere else, Paradox will deliver.” Claire, a staff member, added that the store is not just a place to shop but a space where customers can discover treasures that bring happiness and delight. "It really adds a uniqueness to the neighborhood. It is a great place for gifts for yourself or others.”
